Ohmic Resistance (Definition)
A conductor shows ohmic resistance if it obeys Ohm’s Law — that is, the current through the conductor is directly proportional to the applied voltage (V ∝ I), as long as the temperature remains constant.
Non‑Ohmic Resistance (Definition)
A conductor or device shows non‑ohmic resistance if it does **not** obey Ohm’s Law — meaning the current is **not proportional** to the applied voltage. In this case, the V–I graph is nonlinear.
