Definition of Dip
Dip (or angle of dip) is the angle made by the Earth’s magnetic field with the horizontal plane at a given place. It shows how much the magnetic field lines are inclined to the Earth’s surface.
Definition of Declination
Declination is the angle between the geographical meridian (true north-south direction) and the magnetic meridian at a given place.
Dip becomes zero at the magnetic equator, while declination varies from place to place on the Earth.
